Since the start of Photoshop in 1988, its vector graphic capabilities have since evolved with hundreds of plug-ins for third-party vendors and Adobo itself. While Photoshop can be challenging to master, here are simple 7-step process to getting started with Photoshop.
Step 1: Start with the Simple Version
If you’ve never used Photoshop before or any graphic editing program for that matter, start with the simplest version of Photoshop.
Step 2: Check out Adobe’s Online Tutorials
Use Adobe’s numerous online tutorials to help you get started. Check out more tutorials here.
Step 3: Look for more online tutorials
Aside from Adobe’s tutorials, check our other online sources such as YouTube, Life hacker, Good Tutorials, PhLearn, Tuts+, Kelby One. Most of these sites offer free tutorials online, while others may still charge for content.
Step 4: Consider online classes
Search online for classes that offer Photoshop. There are plenty of local colleges and online-based institutions that offer Photoshop subjects. With Kelby One, you can check out their overview before you pay for the class.
Step 5: Grab an instructional DVD
If you don’t have a reliable internet connection, consider using an instructional DVD to help guide you through each step.
Step 6: Take an Actual Photoshop Class
For a more social approach, Photoshop classes are usually available at the local community college or training institution. You can also look for a private tutor that will give you hands-on training.
Step 7: Read Tutorial Books
